Are you working in consulting and intrigued by the idea of joining a startup? You’re not alone: the consultant-to-startup transition is quickly becoming one of the most popular career paths, and there’s good reasons for that.
Consultants are equipped with much of the right skills to be successful in the startup world: adaptability, taking on many roles, learning quickly, and focusing on customer needs. Yet, there are also many differences and misconceptions: the consulting culture and the startup culture are very different, and many of the “best practices” of consulting, such as frameworks and PowerPoint decks, don’t amount to much at a startup.
This class will give students the confidence and tools to approach a potential career transition. It will demystify a startup career as seen from the lens of a management consultant, and will help you understand whether this is a good fit for you personally. Additionally, it will equip you with the resources and roadmap to pursue this transition in a way that is least risky and most informed.
