About this class

The obvious part of developing a new product is how you’ll build it. The not-so-obvious part to be considered is should you build it. This workshop aims to help you deconstruct your idea down to its core assumptions, using customer interviews to test the validity of those assumptions. Together, we’ll explore:

  • Why a healthy dose of skepticism can be instrumental in product success
  • Two psychological concepts that are the leading causes of startup failure and how to avoid them
  • The process of crafting interview questions and how to run effective customer interviews
  • How to turn customer interviews into tactical takeaways for your new product or business

Takeaways

  • Understand who exactly your target customers are
  • Know how to effectively position your product so it resonates with customers in a way that drives conversion
  • Identify what features are nice-to-haves vs must-haves
  • Create an interview game plan for testing your assumptions

Prereqs & Preparation

An idea for a new product or an existing product you’re looking to iterate upon.

Something to take notes with on content and for exercises - ideally a laptop.
