We will be going over how to:
- Connect to and bring real-world data into Tableau
- Easily clean, prepare and filter data for exploration and interactive visual analysis
- Explore different data types and methods to drill up and down into data detail
- Build a variety of analysis chart types, including beautiful maps, time-series, and forecasts
- Use built-in table calculations, plus create calculated fields to enhance your analysis
- Work with dates, including discrete and continuous-time aggregations
- Apply one-click advanced analytics, like forecasting, to extend the power of data visualizations
- Combine visualizations into dashboards, along with data filters and interactivity
- Present insights by combining multiple “Vizzes” into interactive dashboards
- Be inspired to present and even animate your Tableau story from a legendary master data storyteller
- See how to create an online portfolio of your dashboards with a free Tableau Public account
- Receive a library of best practice guidelines and understand how to pursue Tableau industry certification

If this class is recorded, students will be sent the recording link within 7 days after class completion by email. Students are encouraged to download and save any shared materials (worksheets, deck if applicable) during class for later reference as they are not be shared by email.

Preparation
- Minimum computer system requirements, as published by Tableau, will include a minimum of 4GB system memory with a recommendation of 4GB for optimal performance
- Having access to a second monitor is highly recommended (but not required).
- You will need access to a laptop or computer with a working webcam and microphone as well as a strong internet connection.
- This class will occur completely online using Zoom.
- Class setup information will be emailed to all students signed up around 24 hours before (and again an hour before) your class launches.
- Each individual class participant must have purchased a ticket

Brett Kemp enjoys spending time at the intersection of business intelligence and analytics, helping to solve complex questions and problems using data and analytics. After earning a Master of Business Administration from Virginia Tech, Brett moved to Washington, DC to pursue a career in the hospitality industry. He has worked in various data and analytics roles for major industry players including Hilton, Choice Hotels, and Disney. He is passionate about sharing his knowledge and learning from others.
Primary Technical Skills: Tableau (Desktop Certified Professional, Desktop Qualified Associate, Server Qualified Associate), MicroStrategy (MCSA, Certified Report Developer, Certified Project Developer), Alteryx (Designer Core Certification, Designer Advanced Certification) , SQL and Excel/VBA.
