In 2010, soon after the earthquake in Haiti that devastated a nation, Team Tassy founder Ian Rosenberg met a young man by the name of Tassy who suffered from a tennis ball sized tumor in his face. Inspired by the need for medical support and socially-beneficial employment, Ian raised the necessary funds for Tassy to receive treatment in the US and began a mission of full-stack redevelopment by providing raising and funds for all necessary steps towards a better life: medical care, education, job training, and job placement.

Team Tassy's Executive Director, Vivien Luk, will share the impacts and struggles the non-profit has made on the ground in one of the poorest nations in the Western hemisphere. She will highlight their creative strategies for partnerships and fundraising, including their collaboration with Tread by transforming waste into t-shirts and the Run Across Haiti program. Come to General Assembly to learn about this amazing organization tackling one of the biggest challenges in global poverty through comprehensive programs for those in need. A fireside chat led by Net Impact Los Angeles will provide attendees with insight on the collaborative space been non-profit and for-profit as well as methods for measuring and attaining social missions.
