About this workshop

Although it's "never been easier" to build a website these days, the process of creating even a simple marketing or portfolio site can seem daunting and overwhelming. This workshop seeks to solve that problem, offering you a proven approach and intuitive tools to create a beautiful, well-organized, and easily updated marketing, portfolio, blog or "brochure" website in about 3 hours. By the end of the class, you'll have a working version of your website, ready for final tweaks and launch.

Takeaways

This bootcamp is divided into four parts:

  1. Why Squarespace? - You'll learn about the 7-year web design journey which led Familian&1 to prefer Squarespace over all other platforms (including WordPress).
  2. Site Goals & Information Architecture - Learn about the importance of storytelling through information architecture and follow a proven process for identifying your website goals and organizing site content into easily updatable sections.
  3. Theme Customization + Page Creation - Now that your site content is well-organized, you'll learn how to make pages, organize them into sections, and tweak the overall look and feel of your site's theme (plus resources to generate a beautiful logo inexpensively)
  4. Finalize + Publish - Last but not least, we'll walk through a pre-flight QA checklist that'll ensure your site is ready for launch on a custom domain.
