Slack and General Assembly present a free evening event — ‘Not a programmer but want to work in tech?’ at the newly opened Slack Melbourne office.
This event is designed to raise awareness of roles available in tech startups for creatives, communicators and “people people”. This is not an event for developers, unless they’re looking for a career change. The session will feature Slack’s APAC leads who will be talking about the opportunities available to those who have an interest in working in a tech startup, and, Slack, who have diverse skill-sets and career desires.
Slack’s lead recruiter, Marissa Senzaki will shed light on the range of roles available for those interested in tech, the skillsets she believes are critical for a successful career (and to get hired) at companies like Slack, and what kind of culture and lifestyle companies like Slack and other startups expect and offer.
General Assembly guests will also hear from Slack’s regional manager of Customer Experience (CE), Judy Watkins, talk about the importance of CE to Slack and the opportunities currently available in Slack’s Melbourne team.
Attendees will be provided with light snacks, drinks and will go home with some Slack merch and an information sheet on new job types and tips for getting a job in a tech startup.
