About this workshop

This class aims at improving your basic Rails knowledge by building a cut down version of Twitter including user login, posts and comments. You should have Rails installed on your computer and should have had some basic experiences with the Ruby language and the Rails framework as well as the command line.

Takeaways

At the end of the course you will have learned about user authentication, Active Record and database associations, validations, routing, and gem usage. If time allows, we will even publish the application online for the world to see!

Prereqs & Preparation

You know the basics of the Ruby language and the Rails framework. MVC is not a meaningless acronym for you and you understand the command "rails generate". Ruby, Rails and git are installed on your system and you know what and where your command line is.
