About this event

Join us for a professional development session where we'll go beyond the hype and show you just what you can do with this powerful, game changing way of building user interfaces. During the first hour, we'll provide a general overview of React, what it is and why it's been so influential in the industry. No technical expertise required.

Then, during the second half of the session, we'll dive in to the technology; we will take a look at the inner workings of React, such as reusable Components, passing data via Props, using State to manage unidirectional data flow, and explore the components lifecycle. We will also learn how to get started working with React and build out an app while applying these new skills. If you stay for the second half, you should have some familiarity with JavaScript and front-end web development.

Takeaways

  • Create Components, a fundamental building block of React
  • Pass data to a Component via Props
