About this class

Having an understanding of Java's object-oriented nature gives Android developers the confidence to write more efficient code. During this workshop, you will learn the right ways to write object-oriented code in Java for Android applications. To do this, you will be: creating a number of different objects and defining their inheritance models; defining and implementing classes, sub-classes and interfaces; and working with and importing packages.

This workshop has been designed to teach aspiring Android developers how to use object oriented programming in Java to write "DRY", reusable code that is easy to update.

Takeaways

Students will have a better understanding of what functionality is made possible with Java code as well as confidence in their ability to learn independently and read and use error messages to guide problem solving. They will also learn how to leverage internet documentation and forums as they use Git/GitHub to share and collaborate on source code.
