About This Class

As one of the most popular and most versatile programming languages out there today, it’s safe to say that JavaScript is a staple in the toolkit of a successful software engineer.

This free, 2-hour session is the perfect place to review and expand your existing JavaScript knowledge and apply it to a real website. (Don’t have existing JavaScript knowledge yet? Make sure to Learn the Basics before attending this session.) Learn how to define, access, and manipulate the DOM and how to add dynamic data from a third party API to a website.

By the end of this session, you’ll have a fully functional, interactive website made with HTML, CSS and JavaScript that you can add to your portfolio. Now that you have experience with the coding fundamentals, don’t miss the final session of our coding series where you’ll get hands-on practice with Python Basics to round out your skillset. We’ll see you there.

Takeaways

  • Know the role Javascript plays in web development.
  • Understand how to define, access, and manipulate the DOM using Javascript to make a website interactive.
  • Hands-on practice programming the content and appearance of a website to change in response to user actions.
