Shilpa has been in the Data field for over 11 years. She graduated with a Master's in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from the National University of Singapore. She is the Lead Instructor for General Assembly Singapore's Data Science Immersive course. She is proud to be part of the team that continuously enables mid-career professionals from diverse industries enrolled in the Tech Immersion and Placement Programme (TIPP) to convert them into industry-ready Information and Communications Technology (ICT) professionals. To Shilpa, teaching at GA motivates her to be a better version of herself by pushing her technical knowledge boundaries to make learning digestible for her students.
Before joining GA as a full-time instructor, Shilpa held various Data roles as a Data Scientist in SaaS, the public sector, and Senior Engineer/Data Analyst at Fortune 500 Semiconductor MNC. She has worked with Python, Power BI, SQL, AWS, and Robotic Process Automation, amongst other tools, to apply Data Science for business problem-solving.
With the continuing aim to influence fellow data enthusiasts trying to break into a more data-centric career, Shilpa actively participates in public conferences as a speaker and part of panel discussions with industry experts to spread technology awareness and motivate women in tech.
