About this class

In this all day workshop, students will apply the basic programming skills they have been introduced to in the “Introduction to Arduino” workshop (WCL101). We will also introduce a very popular chip level communication bus protocol called I2C (pronounced “eye squared see”), how it works and how it can be used extensively in your projects. Students will learn the process of taking a project definition, working through a high level block diagram, inventorying all the resources and connections required to build the project, soldering up the requisite breadboards or shields and developing the initial product prototype. This workshop includes working through the process of finding and including the proper libraries into the Arduino IDE, learning how to confirm that all of your component parts are working properly and integrating everything into a working system. By the end of the day you should have a working prototype you can take home and build onto.
