About this class

Now that you’re basically a pro with coding basics, it’s time to familiarize yourself with one of the most valuable-to-know coding languages of 2024, Python.

This free, two-hour session is the perfect place to get hands-on practice programming with Python. You’ll learn fundamental Python programming techniques and tools, discuss its applications in data analysis and web development, then apply your new skills to automate a simple task using Python.

Whether your goal is to add coding skills to your resume, or to completely pivot into a software engineering career, you’ll leave this series with a solid foundation of coding basics to build on in one of our short courses or bootcamps.

Takeaways

  • Understand the role Python plays in software engineering.
  • Basic knowledge of the core concepts of programming with Python like functions, if statements, loops and more.
  • Hands-on practice automating a simple task using Python programming.

Prereqs & Preparation

  • This is a beginner-friendly series, so no prior knowledge is necessary. It will be helpful to know basic HTML and CSS.
  • If you plan to participate live, make sure you have a free Replit account. Keep in mind, this part is optional.
  • A recording of this session will be sent at the end of the full Skill Seeker series.
  • This session will be held in a Zoom webinar, so your mic and camera will be off. We’ll interact through the chat, Q&A, and reactions.
