FutureLeague presents a summer of Coding, Engineering, and Design Thinking for Kids in grades 2–8. Spend two hours in a preview workshop to try a coding in Javascript, visual coding with Minecraft or robotics and hardware with Arduino.
Studios are 100 hour programs that combines three areas: hard skills (engineering + computer science), tech skills (programming languages, tools, etc), and soft skills (teamwork, leadership, creativity). After a preview session, kids choose to concentrate on either hardware (robotics) or software (coder) and start a progressive program of either 10 or 20 hours towards a 100 hour ultimate goal. Each 10 hours culminates with a design project and complete 3 small projects and one large project after 100 hours.
While kids are in sessions, parents can participate in an interactive discussion about the future of technology education. We’ll also discuss the philosophy behind FutureLeague and how parents can support and help their kids learn technology skills, at home, with very minimal effort.
