Even if you are an experienced coder, the past few years have brought us a whirlwind of awesome new tools and features that should be in every web developer's toolkit. This three hour workshop will focus on what's new, as well as a (hands on!) preview of what's coming next.

  • Modernizr/Shim/CanIUse for dealing with old browsers
  • Flexbox, the next generation of HTML/CSS layouts
  • HTML5 Video / Audio
  • Advanced forms
  • Intro to new JS APIs (localStorage, geolocation, offline cache manifest, etc)
  • New JS libraries to watch out for
  • What's new in JS (a higher-level rundown of what's new in the JS world
