Ethics by Design Workshop Series | St. Louis

About this workshop series

When you design, engineer or promote a product, you believe that it will have a positive impact on your target market. But do you have the resources to think about how your technologies might affect society as a whole?

The products we are creating (and using) are changing the way we live and even changing what it means to be human. This has the potential to deliver a lot of benefit, but also requires ethical thinking to ensure that we create a society that works for everyone.

Whereas before, the internet was seen as an exciting new platform to increase political engagement, encourage the participation of previously underrepresented groups, and improve innovation, now we understand that new forms of communication have also created new arenas of power.

This interactive 3-part workshop series will introduce you to the basics of ethical thinking and will help you implement ethics in your working day. Instructor & technology ethicist Alice Thwaite will use a combination of lecture and in-class exercises to ensure that you'll leave with a working grasp of the fundamentals that you can start using immediately.

Who is this class for?
