About this event

Did you know that in the first half of the 20th century, posters were a striking form of propaganda, that stoked the war effort on both sides of the Atlantic? Did you know that when Irish artist Jim Fitzpatrick developed a simple design based on a photograph of revolutionary leader Che Guevara, he had no concept of how iconic it would become? Did you know that the design for the world's greatest squirt gun, the Super Soaker, was the brainchild of NASA lab work on a heat pump design?

Without design and designers, where would we be? Great design can be a force for change, an agent for good, or an influencer of the way people interpret the world around them. With the digital age sturdily upon us, the advent of great design is more critical than ever.

Come listen to a series of short speaker presentations under the broad theme of 'Design That Changed the World.' Each presentation will be maxed out at 5 minutes, so expect short, punchy talks.

Takeaways

You will learn about the most interesting and earth-shattering designs and designers, as well as their impact on design and the world - straight from the experts themselves.
