About this event

Want to work on a UX project that creates real impact? Join us for this fast-paced full-day UX Design Hackathon at General Assembly, and work on one of Oxfam's Design For Change initiatives.

Teams of designers, budding designers and entrepreneurial thinkers will spend a day redesigning an online experience. You will combine skills in user research, ideation and rapid prototyping, and mentors from the General Assembly community will be on-hand to help flesh out your ideas.

What can I expect on the day?

  1. Form teams, get briefed on the problem statement, and brainstorm a digital solution
  2. Pick up some lean UX techniques from our mentors
  3. Put your new-found UX skills into practice and design a lo-fi prototype
  4. Demo your prototype and present your recommendations to Oxfam, for the chance to win prizes

The challenge

The UX challenge will be provided by Oxfam, and will involve redesigning an online experience for one of their Design for Change campaigns. Oxfam believes that design can be an active ingredient for social change and social activism.

Who should attend?

You! Come along if you’re excited about problem-solving, you’re a motivated, sharp, creative technologist who believes that design can be a tool for social change. No experience necessary. Come with our without a team.
