Social impact in the context of design is about creating new products and services with the express intent of being for the public good, at scales both large and small. This talk will investigate how behavioral science can help designers identify key insights to the motivations underlying their target audience's behavior so they design products and services that will align with natural human behavior while also helping to create social impact. The speakers will present alternative approaches to social innovation, sharing examples from around the world where taking a behavioral design approach to complex social and economic problems has helped overcome major barriers.
