About this event

A platform enables the exchange of value between two sets of users, usually producers of value and consumers of value. Uber, Airbnb, Snapchat, Facebook, Tinder, App Store, and Lending Club are all platforms.

What do Google, Snapchat, Tinder, Amazon, and Uber have in common, besides soaring market share? They're platforms - a new business model that has quietly become the only game in town, creating vast fortunes for its founders while dominating everyone's daily life. A platform, by definition, creates value by facilitating an exchange between two or more interdependent groups. So, rather that making things, they simply connect people.

What is the role of data in these platforms? This quarterly Meetup by Applico will explore the topic with perspectives from executives, product & engineering and data scientists.

The event will kickoff with a fireside chat between Factual Founder and CEO Gil Elbaz and Applico Founder and CEO Alex Moazed.

Background on Factual:

Data is increasingly critical to dom riving innovation and no one should be at a data disadvantage. We at Factual believe that data should be accessible to every developer, entrepreneur, business, or organization – anyone who needs it to build a better app, provide a better search result, make smarter software – anyone who needs data to make a better decision or help others make better decisions.
