About the Instructors:

Darren Shimkus, VP & General Manager, Udemy for Business

Darren Shimkus is Vice President and General Manager at Udemy. Darren leads all marketing, sales, product, strategy and operations for the company’s corporate learning platform, Udemy for Business. Shimkus brings nearly two decades of experience building and growing high-performing sales, marketing, and product management teams. Previously, Darren was the senior vice president of global sales and business development at Mophie, a technology company that manufactures smartphone accessories. At Mophie, Shimkus was responsible for driving revenue across the Americas, EMEA, and Asia, where in two years he doubled the company’s revenue to several hundred million dollars. Prior to Mophie, Darren worked at the Corporate Executive Board (CEB), where he focused on building and delivering corporate education products in the U.S. and across Europe. Darren holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the College of William & Mary and a Master of Business Administration degree from Stanford.

Yvonne Chen, Director of Product Marketing, Udemy for Business

Yvonne Chen brings 10+ years of product and marketing experience to Udemy for Business. She cares deeply about spurring online learning and development for an organization’s most important asset – it’s employees. Previously, Yvonne led Product Marketing and Strategy for Localytics, a leading mobile app marketing and analytics software company based in Boston. Prior to Localytics, Yvonne worked at Facebook in a number of roles, including leading training and development and product marketing for Facebook’s ads and business products. Before that, Yvonne worked in operations roles at Google and managed a business call center for AT&T as a Sales Coach Manager. Yvonne holds a BS in Business Administration from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
