The path to your creative dream job is rarely a straight shot. Join GA & Making Ways podcast for an evening of conversation, learning, and getting together for a great cause. We are recording a live interview with Exploratorium Creative Director Lara McCormick on her creative career journey––followed by an interactive workshop where attendees will learn how to structure brand guidelines and how to apply basic principles of typography to make your logo really stand out. This hands-on night will be packed with time to meet and greet creative minds from across the Bay Area plus you’ll enjoy complimentary snacks and beers from Fort Point. $15 of the proceeds from each ticket will benefit Northern California Fire Fund.
During the interview, you’ll hear all about Lara’s upbringing in Berkeley, her work as an instructor at SVA and Pratt in New York City, her design roles at The New York Times, her book of graphic experiments––Playing with Type, her time as head of design at CreativeLive, and a look behind the curtain at the role design plays at the Exploratorium.
