About this event

Container deposit schemes (CDS) are now available in almost every state and territory (NSW, QLD, ACT, WA, SA) across Australia, with Tasmania and Victoria having made commitments to begin operating in the coming years. This not only makes it easier for people to recycle, it also presents an untapped source of funding for not-for-profits and grassroots community organisations.

In this informative session, you will hear from industry and community experts on how charities, community groups and grassroots organisations can benefit financially when bottles, cartons and cans are recycled through container deposit schemes.

From funding disability scooters for people in need, providing high school scholarships, building local Scouts Halls and running youth development programs, our panelists will share the breadth of opportunities they have unlocked by turning what might be considered trash into treasure.

Takeaways

Whether it is funding a community sporting group or raising much-needed support for an important social cause, you will leave this session knowing:

  • Tools, tricks and tips to raise revenue
  • How to engage your grassroots donor base to collect on your behalf
  • The benefits of using CDS to provide ongoing, untied funding for your organisation

Join our MC, Rebecca Gilling, Deputy CEO at Planet Ark, to learn how empty cans and bottles can fund your future.
