Over two live, three-hour sessions, get your hands on the building blocks of the web: HTML, CSS & JavaScript, and use these to create a functioning, interactive website.
We’ll start by covering the basics of how the internet works — the front-end, back-end, and full-stack development. Then get right into using basic HTML to build the "bones" of a website like headers, paragraphs, and hyperlinks. Once your HTML is set, you’ll add some flare with basic CSS to adjust fonts, color, backgrounds, and more.
In the second half, we’ll move on to the fundamentals of JavaScript like variables and control flow, and practice writing JavaScript functions to handle user interactions and DOM manipulation. Not sure what DOM manipulation is? Don’t worry, we’ll cover that, too.
By the end of this workshop, you’ll have a foundation in the building blocks of the web to start creating simple, interactive websites, and take your coding skills to the next level in a short course or bootcamp.
Please Note: Registration for this workshop will close 24 hours before the scheduled start date.

Software Engineer, Red Badger
Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, I started as a Science Teacher, then jumped to a charity to improve social integration in the slums. I arrived in London in 2013 and worked as an industrial abseiler to save money to do a Web Development course, which I finished at General Assembly in 2015 and they were crazy enough to hire me as a Teacher Assistant. I am still teaching, now as an Instructor, so the circle is completed.
We understand that, sometimes, plans change. If you can no longer make it to a class or workshop, please email us at least 7 days before the scheduled event date. No refunds will be given to cancellations made within a week of the class or workshop.
Your registration for or attendance at any General Assembly offering indicates your agreement to abide by this Community Code of Conduct policy and its terms.
