Kenzan and General Assembly have partnered to address the digital talent gap in Denver and discuss actionable solutions for Colorado companies looking to hire developers, designers, product managers, data analysts, and other technical talent.
According to The Denver Post, “In Colorado, one of the most in-demand STEM careers is computer science. Colorado currently has more than 16,000 open computing jobs, and the average salary of these occupations is $92,000. By contrast, the overall average salary in Colorado is around $50,000.”
From developers to designers to product managers, the shortage and unavailability of digital talent in Denver is high, but not insurmountable. Scott is the General Manager of Galvanize - Denver where he oversee's Galvanize's local operations including helping technology companies start, build and grow their businesses, helping students build the skills for careers in technology and connecting students with companies looking to hire developers and data scientists. Prior to Galvanize Scott was the co-founder and COO of Tandem - a cloud based software helping brands understand and delight their customer. Previously, Scott was the VP of Monetization at Grooveshark and spent four years in Investment Banking help Tech companies raise capital and get acquired.
Scott has been in Denver for 10 of the past 12 years and is passionate about helping the Denver tech scene continue to innovate and grow.

Brian is the People & Culture Evangelist with GoSpotCheck, a Denver-based mobile SaaS startup that focuses on data collection and reporting from field reps. Brian currently manages all talent acquisition operations at GoSpotCheck, including recruitment across the entire business. Prior to GoSpotCheck, Brian worked in agency IT staffing, working with businesses ranging from startups to Fortune 250's.
Brooke has been leading the GA Denver campus since its opening in February 2016. Prior to this move, Brooke managed marketing, operations and the instructional teams for GA's New York campus. Having spent the past 8 years working in secondary education spaces, Brooke is a strong supporter of lifelong learning. Her favorite recent classes outside of GA's offerings have included Inflatable Sculpture, Lockpicking 101 and Learn the Best Three Letter Words for Scrabble.

Annette Quintana is the CEO of Istonish Holding Company, a privately held, Native American information technology services company established in 1990. Headquartered in Denver, Colorado, Istonish helps organizations, individuals and communities to be great through innovative technology solutions. Annette’s unique capacity to inspire her team to deliver successful results stems from her enthusiastic commitment to this vision. Under Annette’s leadership, Istonish has grown and evolved to serve government agencies, private companies large and small, and mission-driven not-for-profit organizations throughout the Mountain West.
Her values emanate from the inside out. Annette has held steadfast to her values of building a company that’s a great place to work and delivers significant value to clients and the community. She actively serves on the boards of several non-profit organizations including: Colorado Technology Association, Visit Denver, and The Nature Conservancy.
Annette is the recipient of multiple awards including: Outstanding Women in Business, Most Powerful Women in Colorado, the Top 100 Women-Owned Business award, and is the 2016 Colorado Technology Association APEX CEO of the Year award winner.
A Colorado native, Annette holds a degree in chemical engineering from Colorado State University, is a wife, the mother of two daughters, and is a self-proclaimed yoga enthusiast. She is well known for her prominent contributions to the community in which she does business and is a recognized advocate for women in the technology industry.

Rona is a Director of Engineering for Kenzan where she leads technical teams in the production of web applications. She is active in the hiring of development resources and helps drive initiatives that encourage the growth of Kenzan's employees. Her career started in Washington DC almost 20 years ago where she accepted her first job out of school as a web designer and front-end developer. She moved to Denver 8 years ago and now considers it home.
Andi Rugg is the Executive Director of Skillful, Colorado. Skillful is a partnership with LinkedIn, ASU, edX and the State of Colorado and the City of Phoenix. Skillful aspires to build a skills-based labor market in which there are many pathways to career success. Andi currently leads the team on the ground in Colorado running day to day operations with key partners and stakeholders: employers, job seekers, educators.
Prior to Skillful, Andi was at American Express, where she has held a number of leadership positions in the OPEN and Global Commercial Payments businesses. She was a management consultant with Booz & Company and a software engineer and IT project manager. She is no stranger to entrepreneurship having worked for startups ranging from digital media convergence to health insurance claims processing.
Andi has an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and a BS from Arizona State University.
