About this class

Pop quiz: How useful is dirty data?

If you answered, “Not at all,” you got it right. Now that you’ve that basic principle down, it’s time to clean and prepare your data for analysis.

This free, two-hour session will teach you best practices for handling null values and cleaning your data for analysis, then give you hands-on practice using basic formulas and functions like trim, text, average, and count to make sure your data sparkles.

Once your data is ready, don't miss day three of Data Week where you’ll get practice with Hands-on Excel Analytics. We’ll take your freshly cleaned dataset and begin analysis using popular methods like PivotTables and VLOOKUP to start to develop insights into what the data is saying. We’ll see you there.

Takeaways

  • Learn common data cleaning actions like reformatting dates, removing duplicates, and combining data sources.
  • Practice applying basic Excel functions and formulas like trim, text, average, count, and more to get your data ready for analysis.
