About this event

UX Designers come from a variety of professionals and backgrounds (banking, law, psychology, visual design etc.) and bring with them ability to problem solve, work within a group and think about the customer and the business. With UX being an emerging discipline in Melbourne, we want to extend out the rest of the market’s idea of what a UX professional is and the strengths they bring to a business, past designing just the UI.

To help our UX Design graduates without a background in visual design, we're excited to host an evening of great discussions & libations, assembling a panel of UX Industry experts with non-visual design backgrounds to come together and share their journey with you and how they got to be where they are today

Topics covered by panel speakers at the event include: · A description of what UX Design looks like in their organisation · What a typical project looks like · The individual career paths each panel member took to get where they are today without having visual design skills. · Skills their organisation are looking for when hiring

There will also be a Q&A and a chance to network with the speakers afterwards.

If you're a General Assembly alumni looking to break into the UX Scene in Melbourne and you have not come from a Visual Design Background then the information and networking opportunities you will have on the night will be invaluable. Places are limited so click RSVP now to reserve your place.
