About this workshop series

Day 1: Bring your creative ideas to life with Adobe® Illustrator®, the industry-standard vector graphics software, used by designers and illustrators who want to create digital graphics, logos, illustrations, and original typography. This workshop is designed to get you up and running with Adobe Illustrator in just one day. The focus will be on step-by-step instruction leading students through the most important tools and concepts in Illustrator.

Day 2: Bring your creative ideas to life with Adobe® Photoshop®, the professional digital imaging standard, used by photographers and designers who want to perfect their digital images. Photoshop allows you to create powerful images and designs. This workshop is designed to get you up and running with Adobe Photoshop in just one day. The focus will be on step-by-step instruction leading students through the most important tools and concepts in Photoshop.

Learn the basics of Illustrator: how to open a file, image trace, add text, use layers and brushes

Create vector line art illustration using the pen tool

Design an original vector logo or icon using Illustrator

Learn the basics of Photoshop: How to open, start and view new files or existing photos

Prereqs & Preparation

This is an introductory course designed for first time and beginning Adobe users. No prior experience is required for this class. All students must be able to bring a laptop to each class (Mac preferred).

You will need to have Adobe Illustrator version CS4 or higher already downloaded on this laptop for the start of class. The full version of Adobe Illustrator CS6 or the free 30-day trial version of it can be found at http://www.adobe.com/products/illustrator.
