About this class

Ground zero intro to managing your own hosting. Why pay for "managed hosting" if you can learn to be a Linux system administrator? This is where the "backend" in full-stack development starts. Whether you want to learn a little Linux to further your career, or you want more control of your blog, website or app's destiny, you'll go step by step through the most basic Linux commands, one line at a time, and leave with a web server that belongs to you.

As a blogger, PJ Brunet had to learn Linux, after years of paying other people to do it for him, because he found web hosts for hire weren't invested enough in keeping him online 24/7. Once mastered, PJ was able and determined to help other businesses that were not adequately served.

During this course you will install NginX and configure ssh. By the end of this class, you will have "Hello World" live on the web with an IP address and the knowledge of why it's important.
