About this workshop

Android devices are powerful, smart devices that run on Google's Android operating system. The Android community offers hundreds of great applications that can be downloaded, and the number of Android developers, devices, and applications are growing fast!

In this hands-on introductory workshop, you’ll learn about the Android development community and walk through the basic capabilities of Android studio, the industry standard software for developing Android applications. Finally, we’ll use these tools and techniques to create a basic two-screen Android app - no development experience required!

Students should be familiar with the basic functions of their computer, such as launching programs, creating folders, copying and pasting objects, formatting text, finding and saving files.
