About this workshop
We kick things off with a deep dive into dynamic data referencing. Students will learn VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, and INDEX MATCH to aggregate data in any form. Then we learn how to use those functions in concert to create powerful dashboards for executives, clients, or other stakeholders.
Students will also be exposed to the building blocks of VBA code to automate tasks and record macros for more complex automation. Finally, students will gain advanced techniques for constructing charts, graphs and pivot tables.
Prereqs & Preparation
- Formatting cells and their contents
- Data validation
- Text-to-column
- Relative and absolute cell referencing
- Math logic in Excel.
Please bring a laptop with Microsoft Office installed (Office 2007, 2010, or 2013 on a PC recommended, Excel 2011 on a Mac acceptable). The instructor will be using a Mac. However, all functions/features will work on a PC. It is also highly recommended that you bring a mouse. This is an interactive class, and your participation and questions are encouraged.
