Put the power of Excel to good use, and build upon your existing knowledge. In this class — ideal for people working in business, management, or simply interested in getting more organized — you will take a set of raw data, and turn it into an executive-level interactive dashboard. We will start with raw data in a textfile, and work through the process step by step to import, categorize, and analyze the data. We will be using several formulas and functions, as well as pivot tables. This class will give you the tools to be a more desirable job candidate and more productive as a worker.
Students should have a good familiarity with Excel, including knowing how to copy & paste, and write rudimentary formulas. Students should be familiar with Absolute & Relative references, and have some exposure to pivot tables. Please bring a laptop with Microsoft Office installed (Office 2007, 2010, or 2013 on a PC recommended, Excel 2011 on a Mac acceptable). The instructor will be using a PC, however all functions/features will work on a Mac. It is also highly recommended that you bring a mouse. Students will also be emailed case study files prior to class that they should download to their desktop. This is an interactive class, and your participation and questions are encouraged.
