About This Workshop

Photoshop is the industry standard photo image editing software for print and digital output. In this hands-on introductory workshop, we will walk through Photoshop's basic capabilities and use tools and techniques to edit images and create visual design mock-ups - no design experience required!

This bootcamp will help students visualize products and designs using Photoshop and learn some basic visual design tips.

Students should be familiar with the basic functions of their computer, such as launching programs, creating folders, copying and pasting objects, formatting text, finding and saving files.

Prereqs & Preparation

This is an introductory course designed for first time and beginning Photoshop users. No prior experience with Photoshop is required for this class. All students must be able to bring a laptop to each class (Mac preferred). You will need to have Adobe Photoshop downloaded on this laptop for the start of class. The full version of Adobe Photoshop CC or the free 30-day trial version of it can be found here.

Danielle McWaters is a creative who specialized in design, direction, and branding. After graduating from Boston University with a BA photojournalism, Danielle decided to branch off and pursue another passion, graphic design. She joined the creative team at Benefit Cosmetics and paralleled her on job training with a two-year design program through UC Berkeley Extension. After six years of working on product packaging and global advertising campaigns, she left to start her own boutique design studio, Designsake Studio, based here in San Francisco. Currently she is working with both established and start-up companies on branding and packaging projects.

Danielle is a believer of design and it’s ability to create new connections and lasting impressions. It drives her to create things that are not only authentic, but that matter. Working alongside her clients, she develops strategies and solutions to transform big ideas into stand out design.
