About This Workshop

Bring your creative ideas to life with Adobe InDesign, the professional page layout standard, used by designers and production professionals to design, preflight, and publish a broad range of documents such as brochures, catalogs, magazines and books. InDesign allows you to lay out and design multiple page documents. This workshop is designed to get you up and running with Adobe InDesign in one day. The focus will be on step-by-step instruction leading students through the most important tools and concepts in InDesign.

Preparation

This is an introductory course designed for first time and beginning InDesign users. No prior experience with InDesign is required for this class. All students must be able to bring a laptop to the class (Mac preferred). You will need to have Adobe InDesign version CS4 or higher already downloaded on this laptop for the start of class.

Nick attended the University of Rhode Island and earned a BA in Art Studio with a minor in computer science. After working as a graphic and 3D designer on grant funded research projects for Lyme disease prevention and language training applications, he went on to teach several courses in graphic and web design, video game design and 3D modeling at tech camps nationwide. Nick has instructed a diverse group of individuals in both the public and private sectors as a licensed Design and Visual Communications teacher and currently is art and design teacher in a private school in Massachusetts. He recently directed and edited a music video and is no stranger to a bass guitar.
