Thinking about switching to a tech career? Now’s a great time. Even amidst all the changes happening in the workforce, the demand for tech-skilled workers is still booming. In fact, 26% of tech recruiters anticipate having a higher recruiting budget in 2024.

There’s just one snag — you’ve already got a full plate. Maybe you’re currently working a full-time job. Or you’ve got young kids at home. Or perhaps you’re busy looking after your own parents. Bottom line: you have responsibilities to tend to and can’t drop everything to go back to school full-time.

We get it — and you’re not alone. That’s why we’re launching a new Software Engineering Part Time Bootcamp that allows lifelong learners to pick up essential tech skills while tending to a full-time job and other responsibilities.

Let’s take a moment to unpack the first of multiple part-time programs soon to come so you can decide whether it’s the right fit.

How It Works — and What You’ll Learn

First off, GA’s Software Engineering Part-Time Bootcamp is built from the same curriculum that’s already accelerated career mobility for tens of thousands of learners worldwide. The only difference is that you can now digest the material in smaller, more flexible chunks. The program lasts 32 weeks and requires only six hours a week of live lectures — with the option to access an additional 10 hours of support if you need it.

In other words, you can fit tech training around your own schedule. Fast-forward eight months, and you’ll have experienced the same engaging lectures and market-aligned curriculum of a full-time General Assembly bootcamp — with the benefit of being able to dictate your own practice time for hands-on labs and projects.

During this time, you’ll dive deep into a comprehensive curriculum that teaches fundamental tech skills and programming languages for both front-end and back-end development, giving you the chops to build full-stack web applications. Along the way, you’ll develop four capstone projects, each showcasing a different tech stack — and coming together to form one killer portfolio.

In addition, you’ll learn how to enhance your value as a tech pro by leveraging GenAI in your coding work. We cover how to use large language models like ChatGPT to do everything from boost productivity to debug code. Fundamentals include writing good prompts and how to use generative AI tools ethically and responsibly.

All of this learning acceleration is achieved with the same community-driven, expert-led experience that’s core to our approach. You can get the full download on what you’ll learn in our Software Engineering Part-Time Bootcamp here.
