Career Tarotscopes for April 2023

By

Rebecca Szymczak, aka Cardsy B, author of The Saturn Diaries and tarot reader to the stars, consulted her cards and has tips for which signs should ignite those Aries fires to charge ahead and which signs should use the astrological new year to take a breath and recalibrate. She also has some insight into some unexpected evolutions in the workplace due to the post-equinox energies.

As we enter April, Aries season is in full swing, providing more energy and inspiration than many of us have felt since late 2022. In the northern hemisphere were already in the “lighter” part of the year as March’s equinox marked the spring. More of the sun’s light reaches the earth’s plane between now and June, bringing much-needed illumination to decisions that may have felt a little hazy on the career front in the year’s first quarter. The powerful full moon in Libra on April 5th clarifies what is calling us to move ahead and what needs to be cleared, or at a bare minimum, what needs to be firm boundaries. April is one of the most powerful months of 2023 as we celebrate the astrological new year while having all the planets in our solar system move direct until the 21st, when Taurus season enters, and Mercury goes retrograde.

Whatever your sign, there are many wins — plus a few distractions to watch out for this month, so read on to see what the cards have in store.

Sign: Aries/ Aries Rising (March 21 to April 19)

Card: The Emperor

Happy Birthday, Aries. The Emperor card is ruled by Aries, suggesting you return to your high-vibe base level this month. If you were experiencing delays or stalls in work throughout the first few months of 2023, The Emperor is here to help you get back into your natural flow. It’s time to take the reins and share initiatives comfortably.

Highlight: Back in the Game

The Emperor comes in strong but also sets the foundation for the months ahead. Ideas you share this month, and your decisions will streamline success for you and your team members for the long haul. Look for rewards from meetings or projects completed in April to pay out in a big way come Libra season.

Heads Up: Be Prepared to Back it Up

The Emperor often sees the long-term more than others, so be prepared to justify your plans and ideas to help others understand your vision better.

Mantra:  Now let’s get in formation, cause I slay.  – Beyonce

Taurus/ Taurus Rising (April 20 to May 20)

Card: Queen of Cups

Taurus is a grounded but sensitive sign, often feeling empathetic to the emotional states of friends and colleagues. This month your spidey senses may be heightened, allowing you to make adjustments for the greater good of long-term projects based on individual strengths and workflow.

Highlight: In the Zone

Your potent combo of intellectual and emotional intelligence put you in the spotlight this month, with multiple VIPs taking note.

Heads Up: Fill Your Own Cup First

Though you have a very generous nature, taking care of your needs first is essential. This could look like finishing your work before helping others, shutting down your computer at a consistent time, or making sure to get enough sleep.

Mantra: I can buy myself flowers. – Miley Cyrus

Gemini/ Gemini Rising (May 21 to June 20)

Card: Ten of Wands

You may feel like you’ve been fighting an uphill battle. The Ten of Wands, aka “The Successful Workaholic” card in the Tarot, reminds you that your efforts are about to pay off. Expect good financial news by the end of the month.

Highlight: Domino Effect

When the first piece of good news comes, prepare for more. For example, you might get unexpected praise from a usually cold manager and then receive news of a pay increase or bonus paying out more than you anticipated a few weeks later.

Heads Up: It’s OK to Receive

Because of the challenges you’ve had to navigate over the past couple of months, you may be wary of getting too excited over news that may seem too good to be true. Remember: the more you allow yourself to receive, the more will come.

Mantra: I deserve it. – Lamboginny

Cancer/ Cancer Rising (June 21 to July 22)

Card: Two of Cups

Things are already moving forward for Cancers this month, with new opportunities and projects that have been coming in since the end of March. The full moon in Libra on April 5th will bring even more expansion your way and the chance to utilize the strength of others around you.

Highlight: Growth Spurt

This month brings the recognition and advancement opportunities you have been craving and the ability to collaborate so you can work more effectively and efficiently.

Heads Up: Trust Issues

The Two of Cups highlights that abundance comes more easily when we’re willing to work together. Historically you’ve had to take on a lot solo; it may have even become your autopilot setting. This month you’re being asked to trust others to help you, and rewards will come more quickly and with less resistance if you do.

Mantra: With a little help from my friends – The Beatles

Leo/ Leo Rising (July 23 to August 22)

Card: Four of Swords

Leos are known for being bold and fearless, like their lion archetype. This month asks you to take a moment to contemplate the big picture before taking action or making any big declarations. The second half of April has rewards in store, but patience is required to decipher the best way to obtain them.

Highlight: Intuitive AF

You can sense a big break is coming. It’s important to focus on that vision and trust the right time to request the meeting, send the email, or take action needed to secure it.

Heads Up: Patience is a Virtue

The Four of Swords reminds us to filter out any outside noise and take a moment to observe our intuition before responding. A well-thought-out email sent tomorrow is better than an email sent immediately in an irritated reactionary state.

Mantra: The right time – The Corrs

Virgo/ Virgo Rising (August 23 to September 22)

Card: Two of Pentacles

Virgos are notorious for their hardworking nature and love of serving others. This month the Two of Pentacles brings in some much-needed balance. If it has felt that many of your efforts were going unnoticed, an increase in abundance coming mid-month reminds you that you are being seen and appreciated.

Highlight: It’s About Time

Though it may have felt that this level-up was a long time coming, the new opportunity is presenting itself this month due to all the seeds you have planted since the beginning of the year.

Heads Up: Decisions, decisions

Though the Two of Pentacles provides a greater balance of abundance and recognition, it also appears you have some decisions to make quickly. Choose from a place that genuinely excites and inspires you the most, and you can’t go wrong.

Mantra: Should I stay or should I go? – The Clash

Libra/ Libra Rising (September 23 to October 22)

Card: The Sun

Libra’s scales may feel like they got quite a workout after last month’s highs and lows of a tumultuous Pisces season. The good news is April brings the Sun card in to illuminate any remaining shadows. The solstice has impacted Libras in particular, clearing up the debris of self-doubt and old stories of unworthiness.

Highlight: HD Vision

The sun’s energy -both from April’s Tarot pull and the increased sunlight on the earth plane- feels like putting on glasses for the first time. Solutions and inspiration for new projects arrive this month at the speed of light.

Heads Up: Don’t Forget the Balance

Libras are represented by the scales highlighting that balance is your greatest ally. Though the new burst of inspiration and energy may cause you to want to go, go, go, don’t forget to rest and give yourself some downtime this month as well.

Mantra: Get the balance right. – Depeche Mode

Scorpio/ Scorpio Rising (October 23 to November 21)

Card: Page of Cups

April brings in an opportunity to embrace your inner child in a work-appropriate manner. A team-building opportunity or trip arises where you can have fun and get to know others in a way that will strengthen relationships with collaborators moving forward.

Highlight: New Connections

This Page of Cups social or travel opportunity in April allows you to bond with someone you wouldn’t usually get this much face time with, setting you up for more collaboration and success in the future.

Heads Up: Don’t Force It

Enjoy this opportunity for interaction but don’t worry about having to seek it out or manipulate circumstances. The best conversations occur organically.

Mantra: Time is on my side.– The Rolling Stones

Sagittarius/ Sagittarius Rising (November 22 to December 23)

Card: Queen of Swords

The Queen of Swords is coming in hot for Sagittarians who have been waiting, most likely impatiently, to get the go-ahead on a project that’s been in the works since the end of 2023. Green lights are coming this month, Sag.

Highlight: It’s Go Time

Queen of Swords comes in with efficiency and direct communication. News this month is delivered clearly and swiftly and demands the same commitment as your response.

Heads Up: Analysis Paralysis

Sagittarians are ambitious go-getters. However, because there has been a delay in receiving this news, there might be a tendency to get in your head about potential outcomes. Don’t overthink it.

Mantra: Let’s do this. – Outskirts

Capricorn/ Capricorn Rising (December 22 to January 19)

Card: The Devil

The Devil is undoubtedly a challenging card, and it requires strength and discipline to untie old patterns of self-sabotage, but luckily Capricorns excel in these areas.

Highlight: Big Release

This month The Devil brings the opportunity to unshackle yourself from anything that no longer serves you in your work life. This could be unhealthy communication patterns with a boss or poor work/life balance. This month illuminates how to permanently release this to build stronger habits, behaviors, and better work hygiene.

Heads Up: It’s A Process

As the area needing to be cleared is highlighted, it can cause you to be hard on yourself for letting it get to this place. Remember, the only way out is through. Be kind to yourself. You know more and have more tools now, which is why you’re making these changes.

Mantra: What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. – Kelly Clarkson

Aquarius/ Aquarius Rising (January 20 to February 18)

Card: Ace Of Wands

The astrological new year of Aries season presents an exciting new opportunity, creating a new area of focus in your current career, a new job offer, or an exciting new side hustle that brings immediate abundance.

Highlight: Out of The Blue

This doorway opens seemingly out of nowhere so there’s no need to worry about seeking the perfect opportunity. This shows up exactly when you’re able to say yes this month.

Heads Up: It’s Ok To Trust Your Gut

Aquarians are often quite analytical and prefer to look at all angles. This opportunity is clear-cut and asks you to move forward from an intuitive versus investigative place.

Mantra: Just do it. – Jufu

Pisces/ Pisces Rising (February 19 to March 20)

Card: Nine of Wands

Hold strong, Pisces. You’ve come through a lot already this year, and the dust will soon settle. The Nine of Wands reminds you to persevere; remember, it is always the darkest before dawn.

Highlight: The Best is Yet To Come

Just as more light entered with the Spring Equinox, more illumination is coming as to why you moved through what you have these past few weeks. Ultimately, you will be shown that the highlights of 2023 are on the way.

Heads Up: Slow and Steady

Though you may already feel lighter as we move through April, take things day by day. Events are unfolding with divine timing, and it’s best to approach work ventures this month as more of a marathon than a sprint.

Mantra: I made It through the wilderness. – Madonna
