Admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor, Supreme Court of Singapore and Solicitor, England & Wales, Zaid has over 30 years of professional legal, business and government experience spanning the fields of intellectual property, technology commercialization, media and cybersecurity transactions as well as strategic planning and performance management. Prior to his appointment at the Law Society in March 2016, he has served as Director at Microsoft, Chief Legal Officer at publicly-listed Telekom Malaysia as well as Senior Legal Adviser for Singapore Telecommunications’ joint venture with Warner Brothers and Sony Picture Entertainment. A deep believer in the integration of strategic legal practice with enterprise value creation and strategic risk management, Zaid has been involved in numerous business transactions and major governmental consulting work across South-east Asia. Author of nine books, Zaid teaches as an Adjunct Faculty at the Singapore Management University as well as an Associate Lecturer with SIM Global Education. Zaid graduated with a law degree from the National University of Singapore and was awarded the Fulbright scholarship for his Masters program at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, USA.
