Yessel Hinojosa works as a User Experience Designer at CognitiveScale, an Austin-based AI startup. She is the lead designer for Cortex Certifai, which has been named one of the SXSW 2020 Innovation Award Finalists in the "AI & Machine Learning" category. Certifai takes the guesswork out of understanding risk and vulnerability ML models by probing into the model and testing edge cases. Yessel is passionate about problem-solving through seamless design. A former graphic designer, Yessel has an MFA in Web Design + New Media, plus several years' experience designing for other start-ups based in India, Mexico and the United States. Her designs have helped users buy and sell crypto currencies, sign digital documents, find fitness and wellness advice, rent and navigate office spaces, take machine learning models to production and evaluate them to identify and reduce bias.
