Willie originally decided to study Computer Science because he thought he would never get bored by writing computer programs. Turned out he was not wrong (most of the time). He first obtained his Bachelors in Computer Science at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, then a Masters in Information Technology at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
Willie spent the first ten years of his career as a Java developer in various industries and startups like Cherrypicks. Prior to joining GA he was the Principle Developer at financial institute, Nomura, mainly using Ruby and JavaScript with a new focus on Functional Programming. He also has an interest in Data Science and Machine Learning.
When he is not coding or learning new programming languages, he enjoys reading (mainly sci-fi and comics/manga), playing video games, hiking and Muay Thai. He is a big fan of Stephen King (39 books so far!!) and also a die-hard Star Wars fan.
