Waqas started his career as freelance developer but opted for penetration tester role as first job due to interest in ethical hacking. But after spending some time, he realized that for successful exploitation of web applications, its necessary to know some programming languages in depth. Therefore, he started working as software engineer for few years and then moved back into cybersecurity, where he spent 8 years working for FireEye in different roles ranging from malware researcher to SDET on different security products and teams. Overall he has ~14 years of experience in IT industry working in different roles. Currently he is working as an Engineering Manager at Xendit leading multiple teams along with serving as security architect to bridge the gap between product and security teams.
