For 20 years, Virginia led the grassroots marketing efforts of Equal Exchange, a coffee, tea and cocoa fair trader, growing it into a known brand name in the organic coffee industry. In 2016, with an appreciation for working families juggling raising healthy young children, and a Clearness Committee to help her take the leap, she founded Invent Boston. Invent Boston designs and develops teaching tools to help kids take on daily healthy habits. Her first line of products includes a light-up, interval timer called the Two Minute Turtle Timer to help kids of all ages focus and brush teeth for the full 2 minutes. Virginia’s strategic grassroots marketing approach brings consumers and buyers into the process from prototyping to growing sales channels.
