Vanessa Carmean

Vanessa Carmean is a Director of Sales at Zayo, a telecommunications company providing communications infrastructure services, including fiber and bandwidth connectivity, colocation and cloud infrastructure. Vanessa’s work spans the intersection of science, health care, and technology, ranging from Fortune 100 companies to the entrepreneur/start-up community. She currently leads a team focused on Zayo's largest and most strategic customers in Colorado and the Bay Area. Prior to Zayo, she earned her PhD in neuroscience, founded a sauerkraut company, and has worked in both the health care IT and smart city ecosystems. Vanessa is committed to the growth and development of young female professionals: she started a "Lean In" group to enable women to gather and grow professionally; led one of Zayo's Early Careers teams, allowing individuals to learn industry specific and sales skills; and recently co-founded the Boulder Health Tech networking group. Vanessa values the role of human connection in both professional and business success.
