When Uyo Okebie-Eichelberger became a mom for the first time 6 years ago with the birth of her daughter, Rumi 6, she was disappointed when all her options for nursing bras were drab, ugly, matronly and bland colored, not to mention overpriced pieces that looked like something her grandmother would wear. The more she searched, the more daunting it became to find a cute, well- made and affordable maternity and nursing bra.
With more research, Uyo quickly realized that so many moms felt the way she did. They were all looking for more fashionable options that wouldn’t
break the bank. That was her ah-ha! moment. She decided to trade in her long days as a brand manager of Kraft Food’s Mac & Cheese for even
longer days and nights as an entrepreneur.
Equipped with her Duke MBA and experience as a brand manager, Uyo took matters into her own hands, resulting in the 2010 launch of You! Lingerie, the leading designer brand of chic maternity and nursing intimates and sleepwear cleverly made for fashionista moms.
In the summer of 2014, Uyo launched a second brand, Preggo Leggings (www.preggoleggings.com), equal parts comfy and cute over the belly maternity leggings that every fashionista mom seriously can’t live without. She is taking the maternity industry by storm. Uyo Okebie-Eichelberger has successfully built a seven-figure empire with the You! Lingerie and Preggo Leggings brands internationally. You! Lingerie has also participated in runways shows during Lingerie Fashion Week in New York City. Her brands have been featured in several news publications and TV shows like The New York Times, Glamour Magazine, Cosmopolitan, The Huffington Post, CNBC, The Today Show, E! News, OMG!, The Daily News UK, Pregnancy & Newborn, American Baby and Fit Pregnancy. Currently, You! Lingerie is sold online and in over 120 stores in North America, South America, Europe, Australia, Asia and Africa. Uyo Okebie- Eichelberger partnered with the world’s largest retailer, WalMart.com to launch an exclusive branded line, Love Lingerie, in Spring, 2016.
Most recently, Uyo began to provide business consulting/mentorship services to aspiring entrepreneurs to help them realize their own dreams of being successful entrepreneurs creating custom detailed roadmaps for jump-starting their ideas to becoming actual businesses.
