Toni Chan is the definition of a third-culture kid: born in Hong Kong, raised in Canada, completed her MBA in Europe and now has been living in Singapore for 12 years. She founded August Society, an independent sustainable swimwear brand in 2015 after spending most of her career in the corporate world but craving a more creative and entrepreneurial path. As a mother of two, she wanted to craft a brand that aligned with her values: the desire to keep learning, the impatience to discover new places and the need to be better citizen of the world. Having travelled to over 50 countries, she couldn’t ignore any longer the damage done to our societies and ecosystems by fast fashion and wanted to ensure the best future for all of our children.
