Tim Gray is a product management executive with over 15 years of experience in both consumer and professional software markets. Among the companies Tim has worked for are Apple Computer, Ask.com, Ofoto (a Kodak company), Autodesk, and BandPage. He currently teaches at General Assembly and UC Berkeley’s Center for Executive Education.
Tim believes that product managers play the most pivotal role in product development. Because they represent and are close to both the customer and the company interests, they are uniquely positioned to make the hard decisions that determine whether a product will succeed or fail.
Tim has studied many different approaches to product management and advocates for a model that puts the customer at the center and judges success based on product adoption and user delight over capabilities and technological achievement.
In addition to his teaching work, Tim is developing software to help product teams more deeply understand how customers relate to their products and more effectively align product roadmaps to meet customer needs.
