    Thomas Scott

    Founder, BlackBall Sports

    Atlanta

Thomas is a proud alum of Tuskegee University. While at Tuskegee, he earned a bachelor's degree in sales and marketing. As an avid sports fan, he was immediately drawn to the academic and athletic culture of historically black colleges and universities. Unfortunately, insight about this unique experience was often lacking in sports media. Sensing a tremendous opportunity, Thomas founded BlackBall Sports in 2016. At first glance, you may wonder why the name BlackBall? Typically the term "blackball" has a negative connotation; however the purpose of BlackBall Sports is to change perceived negatives into positives. As founder of BlackBall Sports, Thomas serves as a voice of the underground sharing the contributions of HBCU athletes, coaches, and culture that are often ignored by mainstream media. Since it's founding Thomas has done color commentary for football games on the Tuskegee University Digital Network, contributed to Dr. Cavil's "Inside the HBCU Sports Lab" radio show, and has written feature articles for other industry leading publications. In addition, Thomas helps manage the General Assembly Atlanta Admissions Department where he is able to to tap into his love for all things technology on a daily basis.
