Tessa is co-founder of OLIO, an app that connects neighbours with each other and local shops and cafes so that surplus food can be shared, not thrown away. OLIO piloted in a small part of North London last summer, in December it expanded to cover all of London and at the end of January it became available nationwide. In this short time, OLIO has been downloaded over 45k times, selected as a "Best new app" in the App Store twice, featured on ITV and BBC London News and used over 250k times to enable thousands of items to be shared. I
Tessa started life as a farmer's daughter in North Yorkshire and went on to Cambridge, and then London to pursue a career in business. She met her co-founder, Saasha Celestial-One in 2002 when they studied at Stanford Business School in California. Tessa has two small children and lives between Wiltshire and London.
