Syed Mubarak is a passionate and experienced senior executive in leading the change within diverse group of organizations to embrace sustainability through adopting technologies, innovation, business process improvement, behavioral change and stakeholder engagement programs to yield long term sustained value for People, Planet and Profit. His 28 years of experience in Asia evolves around Sustainability, Engineering, ESG Reporting, Business Development, Asset Performance Improvement and Raising awareness through education & engagement initiatives across diverse market segments such as Hospitality, Commercial, Industrial and Institutional portfolios. He has successfully executed more than 300 climate mitigation projects in Asia that yielded double digit positive impact on energy efficiency, carbon emission, water conservation, waste reduction and recycling that has improved bottom-line to the asset owners while achieving the ESG goals. He has tremendous experience in strategizing & implementing social inclusivity programs to raise awareness on specific issues like food waste, sustainable food, circular economy, plastic elimination, supporting the underprivileged people. Some of the key initiatives are partnership with WWF to eliminate Shark Fin consumption, to implement social conservation program through guest engagement as well as partnership with Clean the World Asia to repurpose unused soap bars from hotel suites and donate to needy people to provide basic hygiene that save thousands of lives. In his last role as Executive Director at Sands China, was leading sustainability and engineering teams for large scale integrated resorts in Macao with mission to enable environmentally responsible operations to accomplish Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) towards mitigating carbon emission, water conservation, waste reduction &recycling, thousands of green actions through engagement programs while enhancing guest/user experience in sustainable hospitality and contributing to the community at large. Syed is the member of several professional affiliations such as ASHRAE, British Chamber of Commerce Macao, IFMA, USGBC, SGBC, IFMA, Singapore Compact CSR, Sustainability Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS) and held board level positions in various such organizations. Syed’s contributions were recognized through several awards, featured in magazines & interviews. Some of the key ones are CSR Hotelier Award (North Asia), ASHRAE Technology Award, Honorable Mention Award and Community Sustainability Awards.He holds qualification on Business Sustainability Management from Cambridge University, Financial Management Specialization from University of Illinois as well as Electrical & Electronics Engineering from India. He is the alumni of S P Jain Global Institute of Management as well as CISL, UK.
