    Susan A. Simone Kang received B.A., magna cum laude, from the State University of New York at Albany in 1992, where she attended the English Honors program. She received a J.D. with a Specialization in International Legal Affairs from Cornell Law School in 1999 and was the recipient of the Melvin I. Pitt memorial scholarship. She received her LL.M. from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in 2009, its inaugural year, and was the recipient of the 2008 Geraldine Ferraro Scholarship from the National Organization of Italian American Women. She was the Lead Symposium Editor of the Cornell International Law Journal, organizing a symposium entitled "The International Criminal Court: Genocide, War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity" and was the Vice Chancellor for the Cornell Law School Moot Court Competition; 1998-9, and the Co-Facilitator of the Cornell Women’s Law Coalition in 1998-9. After graduating from law school, Susan worked in private practice in mergers and acquisitions, international corporate finance transactions and multi-jurisdictional bankruptcies for nine years.In November 2009, Susan assumed the role of Program Director of the LL.M. Program in International Law at the Fletcher School. She was also the Lecturer of Legal Research, Writing and Oral Advocacy and the Fletcher Coach of its Jessup International Moot Court Team.Susan currently serves as the Director of Graduate Legal Education and International Programs at Boston College Law School, managing the International Visiting Scholars Program, the LL.M. Master of Laws Program and Boston College Law School’s international student exchange relationships. As an Adjunct Professor, Susan teaches "Introduction to the U.S. Legal System" and "Legal Reasoning, Research and Writing." She is also the Co-Director of the BC Law Summer Institute: Foundations of U.S. Law and Practice, in which she teaches.

    Susan is a member of the New York, Massachusetts and Connecticut bars and speaks Italian, French and Spanish. She is the mother of beautiful Alessandro Li Kang, aged 2½ years, stepmom to three wonderful children, Joey, Audrey and Oscar, and wife to Andrew Kang, J.D., LICSW, and a Double Eagle alumnus of Boston College Law School ’97, and Graduate School of Social Work ’10.
