For nearly 20 years, Steven has worked in film as a director, producer, cinematographer, editor, and writer. He has documented the stories of hundreds of American World War II veterans of Japanese ancestry and directed the short documentary "American Heroes" accompanying the Smithsonian Institution's Congressional Gold Medal exhibit in Washington D.C.
Steven earned his master's degree in film production at USC's School of Cinematic Arts and studied as an undergrad with visionary director Luis Valdéz (Zoot Suit, La Bamba). He is currently developing a feature documentary and VR experience about two Nisei veterans who volunteered for secret missions in the WWII Pacific theatre.
